Hey, my name is Jessica. I am 16, my height is 5' 4" and weigh about197 lbs. I have decided to make a blog (this one) to help track my weight loss. I have been doing research and think I am ready for this challenge. I have found a few websites to help me on my plan such as a calorie counter, some online tips, the glycemic index, and ofcourse, this blog.
To start, I am going to set some goals. My main goal is to lose 50 lbs. by the end of this challenge. This will put me at a healthy weight of 147 lbs. But that's a pretty big goal, so I'll start with losing 3 to 10 lbs every month. Since it is August 2nd, and I officially start tomorrow, I'll weigh myself the beginning of every month.
I plan on eating stuff that is low on the glycemic index, lots of fruits and vegetables, and plenty of whole grains as well as drinking plenty of water. In time, I am hoping to becoming Vegetarian (another goal). Oh yeah almost forgot, my Calorie intake will be around 1200 to 1400 calories. Not too hard right? we'll see..
Exercise: I am in marching band. Since school starts next week, (I'll be a junior) I will have practice on tuesdays and wednesdays from 3-5. And in the spring, I am hoping to do Choi Kwang Do again (I only got to be a yellow belt). Hopefully, these will be encouragements to keep my grades up. One more thing, on the days I don't have practice, I am going to run. I have become used to jogging/ running roughly 4 miles during this summer, so it shouldn't be too hard.
